Here is a glimpse into a piece of my heart. My lifelong dream. This Saturday was the grand opening of My Darling! It was the day that has given me so much anxiety and sleepless nights, but it came. We spent so many hours prior to Saturday setting everything up, planning, practicing and lots and lots of cleaning (white tile floors my friends, they are little buggers when it comes to cleaning)
On Saturday, June 9th, 2018 at 1:00PM we opened our doors! Here is what we have been working on:
Decor and Catering
If you are now drooling, I don’t blame you! Oh Yummy Day did the most amazing job catering our event! They went above and beyond! When I contacted Stacey I asked her to make a few little appetizers. I was expecting a little cart and a few fruits and berries. When they arrived the guys brought in two trays, went back, three trays, four, five…ten minutes later they are still carrying in the goodies! Not only did she provide the most delicious desserts, she also decorated the carts with the most stunning trays, flowers and lights!! I was over the moon!

The Runway, was a dream!! I cannot believe we actually pulled it off!! All of the girls were so kind and patient with me. They came in weeks and days before the show for fittings and practices. I cannot thank all of them enough! We had 8 girls walk the runway, totaling to 16 dresses! I was actually not supposed to walk with them, but one of our girls got very sick before the show and I filled in. At first I really did not want to, I just wanted to watch and be dress fluffer #1. In the end, I am glad I walked. I got to experience the gitters and butterflies all of the other girls had to go through before entering the catwalk. It was such a great and humbling experience!
It started to rain when we were getting ready and that crushed my spirit so much. I hate to admit it, but it really brought me down. People were cancelling and many didn’t want to drive to the show in the rain. We then got into a circle, held hands and prayed. We prayed for the rain to stop, for people to come and for everyone to have a blessed and awesome time.
When we arrived we entered through the back entrance. I couldn’t see into the main room and was the sixth model to walk. When it was my turn I just saw two people on the right hand side, my heart dropped. Then I turned my head to the left and there was a huge crowd in one little corner. Haha, I have no idea why everyone stood on one side but it was a nice surprise and a relief. People came, people actually came!
We went though our first run, as soon as you are done you quickly rush to get into your second dress. Eight models in the back office, getting into huge gowns. It was so fun, exciting and horrifying hahaha! Again, glad I got to experience it all rather than just planning the whole thing.
The show ran for about 30 minutes! After the last model walked, I jumped out of the room and greeted everyone with my husband. It was such a surreal moment!
The girls then had their photos taken and live modeled for the next couple of hours.
IT WAS AMAZING! You cannot even imagine a store filled with beautiful brides!! I teared up multiple times.
Then we got to socialize and meet everyone who we have not seen before. Thank you to everyone that came!! In a way it felt like a little meet and greet! So many of you have such amazing stories and dreams! My heart was so full! It’s always so much fun meeting my readers and followers.
I love you all!!
